ORGANIZATION: Seedling Inc.

Responsibilities:

- Assist Education Team with curriculum development in at least one of the following areas: Base Curriculum (Baltimore programs), Virtual Curriculum (Outschool), and Workshops (Maryland Science Center)

- Design slides and plan interactive activities for the following units: gardening, hydroponics, nutrition, sustainability, water quality, computer-aided design (CAD), engineering, entrepreneurship, and more

- Conduct program surveys and implement feedback

- Collaborate and maintain regular communication with Education Team and Education Lead

- Commit 2-4 hours/week: weekly Education Team meetings (1 hour) and weekly tasks

- Commit at least 1 year to Seedling

- Interview Process (1 round): interview (10-20 min)

Requirements:

- Be 18 years or older

- Have High School Diploma

- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Have an interest in STEM, health, gardening, food, or sustainability

- Have prior experience teaching or interacting with youth

Description

Seedling Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to promote educational equity in food and STEM literacy through tailored youth programming, sustainable hydroponics products, and widespread initiatives tackling food insecurity, sustainability, and healthy living. Seedling is partnered with Baltimore City Public Schools and community-based organizations to teach children about plants, hydroponics, nutrition, sustainability, water quality, computer-aided design (CAD), engineering, entrepreneurship, and more. As a social venture, Seedling also partners with local businesses to build and sell hydroponics kits, which provide educational enrichment and fund youth programming.
