Mission Statement
Our mission is to be (1) a vital resource in the continuum of care for people of all ages and backgrounds who want to experience the benefits of multigenerational engagement / community centered living and (2) the premier hub for Nordic cultural activities in New England. Our priorities include: • Championing engagement with people of all ages who are passionate about the arts, culture, and multigenerational community life - the Scandinavian way. • Partnering with our neighbors to strengthen the continuum of care in ways that celebrate, embrace, and complement living in a vibrant community. • Elevating & modeling community centered living through education, partnerships and thought leadership.
Description
The Scandinavian Living Center is a nonprofit assisted living center taking an inspired approach to elder care. By adopting core Scandinavian principles, we have created a senior living community where individuals from all cultures and backgrounds can lead connected, fulfilling lives. Community involvement is central to the Scandinavian Living Center's mission. It allows our residents to remain active members of their community in authentic and meaningful ways. Our on-site Cultural Center offers high-quality arts and cultural programming. And we have a weekly pop-up Kaffestugan (a cafe' open seasonally on Saturdays 10:00am-2:00pm) and host events and programs that are open to both the SLC residents and the broader local community.
