We work with you to match your interests, skills, and passions to meet the greatest needs of our patients and their families. You might choose to visit patients and discuss last night’s football game, assist with household chores, gardening, or reading to a patient. Or you can prepare baked goods and/or meals that our staff can deliver to patients, and you can deliver as well. If you have a passion for caring for others and are looking for a way to make a difference in people’s lives, consider becoming a hospice volunteer. Amedisys Hospice gives patients who are facing a life-limiting illness the freedom to live ALL the days of their lives by offering comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Welcome to Aseracare Hospice Volunteer Program! You have started the first step to becoming a volunteer. We are currently seeking volunteers for one of our remote opportunities. Our Remote Hospice Companion program is a way to connect with hospice patients and their families virtually. Volunteers call an assigned list of patients once a week to provide companionship. Volunteer Training provided upon completion of application and background screening. This is a REMOTE position. Become a Hospice Facility Volunteer! Join our Aseracare Hospice Volunteer Program! We are looking for individuals in Jackson, TN who can visit hospice patients in our local assisted living and nursing homes. We have several patients in the Jackson area that could use some extra love and support. Each volunteer is assigned one or two patients to visit at least (2) times per month. As a Facility Volunteer the following requirements are needed: Valid Driver's License/ State Issued ID Background Screen Completed Online Application 2-Step TB Skin Tests Orientation and Training (2) Verifiable References An initial interview will be conducted by your Regional Volunteer Coordinator, Tamara Fuller. Description
As a community-based agency, Aseracare Hospice is committed to providing proper care of the dying patient and their family, as well as education for the community regarding hospice. Hospice care is provided to any terminally ill patient regardless of inability to pay. Per the hospice benefit, our volunteer program provides social and emotional support to patients and families.
