Every week on Mondays, The Giving Room food bank is open for neighbors to come receive food (9:30am-12:45pm). Our intake team works to welcome our guests into the space, provide a number and menu, and help log guests into our database. Volunteers helping in this role must be comfortable with light computer work, including searching for names, and adding to the database. This role interacts with guests for the entirely of the shift and includes both standing and sitting. This role will also assist guests with contact information for community resources around housing, employment or other services. You will arrive around 15 minutes early (~9:15am) to get situated. There will be 1-2 other volunteers assisting with the welcome space. Quick outline: Mondays - Intake team 9:15am-1:15pm | 2-3 people -Welcome guests into lobby -Add to database, provide number and menu -Assist guests with community resources -Work with team downstairs to update menu and send guests to pantry area -Clean up after 12:45pm

Every week on Thursdays and Fridays, The Giving Room food bank receives generous donations from our grocery partners. Our food sorting volunteers help us inspect the donated food and ensure only the best is distributed to our guests. You will sort produce (fruits and vegetables), packaged fridge items (eg, packaged sandwiches, salads, dips etc), and other items like breads and pastries. There will usually be a few other food sorters working during the same shift. Quick outline: Thursday/Fridays - Food sorters 10:00am-11:30am | 2-3 people -Unload food in Giving Room at Epic Life Church -Sort produce, store fridge/freezer items

Every week on Mondays, The Giving Room food bank needs committed drivers to pick up food donations from our nearby grocery partner. This is a weekly volunteer job that requires some training, sincere commitment, and reliability. Volunteers interested in food donation pick ups must have their own vehicles, with room to fit around 10 boxes of food, and be able to lift at least 50 lbs in weight. Ideally, we would like volunteers in this role to commit to a minimum of 6 months. We are flexible if you would like to join us on a different commitment schedule (eg, twice a month). Quick outline: Mondays - Food donation pick up driver 7:30am-8:15am | 2 drivers -Pickup food donations -Unload food in Giving Room at Epic Life Church (other volunteers will be available to unload and sort)

Every week on Mondays, The Giving Room food bank is open for neighbors to come receive food (9:30am-12:45pm). Our pantry team works to stock the shelves and fulfill fridge/freezer orders while our guests shop the shelves for pantry items. Volunteers in the freezer fulfillment role help by selecting the right meat cuts from the freezer for our guest's menu selections. In the fridge fulfillment role volunteers help select the refrigerated meals and prepared foods for our guest's menu selections. You will arrive around 30 minutes early (~9am) to familiarize yourself with the menu and freezer contents and will be standing and moving between freezers for the entirety of your shift. Another volunteer will be fulfilling fridge orders on the same menu. At times this position will require clarifying menu selections with guests in the pantry space.
