Many of our patients look forward to the comforting presence an animal can provide and they long for the unconditional love. Pet therapy is subject to proof of adequate credentialing from a licensed therapy group.

Hospice Respite Volunteer

Phoenix Home Care and Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide companionship and engaging conversation with patients for 1-3 hours. This invaluable respite support allows caregivers to take a much-needed break-whether running errands, attending social events, or simply enjoying some time away from home. As a hospice respite volunteer, you’ll focus on building meaningful connections through conversation and presence, offering comfort and companionship without the need for hands-on care. Hospice Volunteers

PATIENT AND FAMILY SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS Visit and be present with a patient and/or family member Help patients review special memories Read to patients; bring music to patients Give caregivers a chance for some time for themselves or to run an errand. PET THERAPY VOLUNTEERS Certified pets and their trainers can visit patients at assisted living facilities or long-term care locations and homes. MUSIC THERAPY Provide your musical talent to patients, playing the guitar, singing and a musical presence to patients in homes and facilities. VIGIL VOLUNTEERS Provide presence and comfort to our patients and families at the very end of life. GRIEF COMPANION VOLUNTEERS Visit by phone or in person with bereaved following the death of their loved one. STAFF SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS Help with various office assignments. Training for each type of volunteer service is determined based upon the skills and knowledge needed for that service. Volunteers determine how much time they can provide.
