Vet Care Case Manager - City Dogs City Kitties Rescue

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

This is a remote position! Volunteers will be responsible for responding to new health forms/cases as they arrive in the VetCare inbox for dogs. You’ll be corresponding with fosters/trial adopters and helping them triage various health issues. If a dog needs to go to the vet, case managers help send records and correspond with clinics. This role is a little more involved and time-consuming, as you’ll need to stay up to date and respond to fosters in a timely manner. You may need to check the inbox throughout the day or at the very least once a day for any updates. Case managers work on each case until symptoms resolve or the dog is adopted. Knowledge on common dog vet care is preferred but not required. A willingness to learn is required;) The time on this would be between 10-20 hours a week.

City Dogs Rescue Application Counselor

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

This position allows the rescue to ensure that we are find the best match for both family and dog while helping to prepare an adopter for what to expect and to oversee a dog’s transition into their new home. We are looking for volunteers who will correspond with prospective dog adopters and fosters; check personal, landlord, and vet references; conduct virtual home visits. Skills preferred include attention to detail, ability to respond to emails in a timely fashion, and strong people skills. The position requires a 6 month commitment and 1-2 hours of your time a week. City Dog Rescue Foster Dog Assistant

This is a remote position! Volunteers in this position communicate with assigned fosters regarding foster pets, including about any health or behavior issues. We are looking for someone with great attention to detail, timely communication, and a personal desire to help fit the right rescue animal with the right foster! This position requires experience owning and/or caring for dogs and daily access to email.

City Dogs City Kitties Animal Transporter

We are looking for individuals with their own car and a flexible schedule to help transport animals during weekday hours to vet appointments for their spay/neuter and illness appointments. Typically, this will mean picking up animals from DC in the morning to drop them off at their appointments in Laurel. Then, they will need to be picked up after the appointment and brought back to DC. Many of these appointments are outside the city where we are able to get discounted vet care in order to help as many animals as possible.

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue (CDCK) rescues adoptable animals in overcrowded, under-resourced, rural kill shelters. We offer a lifeline to as many of these wonderful animals as possible. Many of the cats and dogs that CDCK rescues are just days -- and sometimes hours -- away from being euthanized for no reason other than lack of space. By finding these animals permanent and loving homes in the DC metropolitan area, we enrich the lives of both humans and animals.
