Vet Care Case Manager - City Dogs City Kitties Rescue

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue

This is a remote position! Volunteers will be responsible for responding to new health forms/cases as they arrive in the VetCare inbox for dogs. You’ll be corresponding with fosters/trial adopters and helping them triage various health issues. If a dog needs to go to the vet, case managers help send records and correspond with clinics. This role is a little more involved and time-consuming, as you’ll need to stay up to date and respond to fosters in a timely manner. You may need to check the inbox throughout the day or at the very least once a day for any updates. Case managers work on each case until symptoms resolve or the dog is adopted. Knowledge on common dog vet care is preferred but not required. A willingness to learn is required;) The time on this would be between 10-20 hours a week.

About City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue

Location:

1812 1/2 11th St NW, Washington, DC 20001, US

Mission Statement

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue (CDCK) rescues adoptable animals in overcrowded, under-resourced, rural kill shelters. We offer a lifeline to as many of these wonderful animals as possible. Many of the cats and dogs that CDCK rescues are just days -- and sometimes hours -- away from being euthanized for no reason other than lack of space. By finding these animals permanent and loving homes in the DC metropolitan area, we enrich the lives of both humans and animals.

Description

VISION CDCK envisions a world where all dogs and cats live in forever and loving homes free from neglect, abuse, and abandonment.

VALUES

  • A passionate commitment to rescuing homeless dogs and cats and placing them in loving, forever homes where both the pets and adopters will thrive.
  • The importance of ending dog and cat overpopulation, and the right of animals to be free from cruelty, neglect, and abuse.
  • The ability to provide high-quality medical care to rescued dogs and cats in a manner that still allows us to be good stewards of our precious resources.
  • Dedication to building a strong foster and alumni network to support our dedicated volunteers and adopters.
  • A desire to create cooperative relationships with other community organizations in order to further our mission
  • A recognition that volunteers are the very heart of our organization. We value the time and energy that each volunteer gives to CDCK and to the animals in our care, and we hope to cultivate their creativity and enthusiasm to further our mission.
