NoSilence NoViolence is looking for dependable, creative and detail oriented volunteer/chair to help with fundraising and event planning for our annual event every October. We are donor funded and this volunteer opportunity directly impacts survivors and the continuing support we are able to provide! Our October event provides much needed funds to support our year. Event incorporates food, entertainment, raffle, giving wall, silent auction, raise the paddle with other opportunities to increase fundraising and experience to be discussed. Fundraising/Special Event Chair will: * Source and secure venue and negotiate availability, pricing, logistics etc. * Source and secure food and negotiate pricing, logistics for event evening * Develoop and maintain logistical event calendar ensuring all tasks are assigned, completed and on budget in a timely manner * Solicit donations from corporations/businesses (including gift cards, monetary support, in-kind) for annual fundraising event * Solicit sponsorship opportunities from corporations * Point person evening of event ensuring all scheduled positions are running smoothly - (ie., check in, raffle organizer, set up, silent auction administrator) * Facilitate a welcoming and engaging environment during event * Provide support and direction with the creation of materials for the event i.e. flyers, posters, signs * Provide support drafting bid cards, description of prizing, raffle prizes & baskets * Provide post mortem after the event for future events * Maintain record of hours volunteered We will provide training, ongoing support and education.

This position helps us identify and reach out to funding that can pay for the services clients rely on us to provide. The volunteer Assistant Grant Writer: Researches and identifies grant funding opportunities throughout the year (non-profit will provide start-up training) Creates a calendar of what funding is available and when to apply Assists in submitting and managing the grant proposal Obtains and attaches supporting documents and service stats Collaborates with the Grant Writer to compile follow up reports Maintains record of hours volunteered Skills preferred: Grant writing experience preferred but not necessary Great with MS Office Word and Excel Sufficient computer skills to research information on grants available and develop maintain a tracking system Exceptional organizational and strong writing skills Ongoing commitment with on average 5-10 hours a month

A valuable member of the volunteer team is needed to support the volunteer coordinator in providing support and direction to the marketing team. The volunteer team includes social media & communications, educational support groups and event support to the fundraising team. You are the vital glue that keeps the group humming and growing. NoSilence NoViolence is looking for compassionate and dependable volunteers to facilitate educational support groups (presenters work in pairs as Lead & Co). We believe that one of the keys to getting ahead of the domestic violence epidemic is education and prevention. Our educational support facilitators will have a key role in this! You will have the opportunity to present to different groups on an array of topics that we provide. Facilitators and co-facilitators will work together to create safe spaces where survivors can discuss the topic at hand while sharing their experiences. Facilitators and co-facilitators will: Be available to facilitate 4-6 week presentations online (currently running relationship skills class) Mutually discuss who will speak to what, what requirements are needed to present, who will confirm logistics etc. Ensure schedule of trainings and ensure adequate presenter prep completed Coordinate meetings with participants (sending reminder emails, Team links if applicable) Open and close the meetings with community agreements, be responsible for managing group time Use provided curriculum to facilitate discussion and opportunities for educational and emotional peer support Connect participants to other NoSilence NoViolence approved resources as needed Support and resolve any problems/issues that come up during meetings Follow up with existing participants as needed NoSilence NoViolence would like to see our support groups grow to be able to provide support to those who English is a second language, LGBTQ+, etc. Maintain sign in sheet, record of presentations given, how many in attendance, and hours volunteered Skills Required: - Empathy, solid listening skills, patience and openness. Public Speaking/presentation skills and comfortable managing group dynamics. Skills Preferred: - Experience with or understanding of domestic violence. 40 hour domestic violence training a plus as is social work and/or counseling graduates. A minimum of 6 month commitment preferred. The time commitment for this varies depending on number of presentations scheduled (typically about 4-6 hours a month). Currently we are offering relationship classes and would love to expand our reach by way of teen relationship classes, LGBQT+ relationship classes, military relationship classes etc. We will provide training, presentations/slide decks, ongoing support and education. Training will start November 2023 for classes starting in early 2024

Social Media & Communication Volunteers will: Assist with social media postings Develop content for Facebook & Instagram Engage with our social media audience through comment response, messaging, etc. Email correspondence such as Newsletter, Year-end letter, etc. Utilizing Canva create flyers and other collateral for meetings, education events, fundraisers, etc. Assist in researching and gathering information for blog creation (currently every other month) Update editorial calendar ensuring all communications & social media volunteers are working to the same deadlines Maintain record of hours volunteered Skils Required: - Responsiveness, strong writing and creativity. Understanding of social media outlets - primarily FaceBook & Instagram. Skills Preferred: Social media and communications experience preferred, howeverwe will train the right candidate. Canva for creating postings, social media experience with both posting and writing but will train the right candidate. Ongoing commitment with on average 4-5 hours a month
