Typical Tasks will include Welcoming people and taking in donations of tools Sorting through tools and passing to other sections of the centre for refurbishment Checking and testing tools donated Carrying out simple cleaning and refurbishment to bring the tools up to a condition for inclusion in a tool kit. This may include minor repairs, sharpening, replacing parts or restoration You need to have a friendly personality and be able to work well as part of a team. Some skills in the relevant area are a bonus, but these are not a requirement as training can be provided and there are some roles which do not require any specialist skills. You should be willing to work hard, but also to enjoy yourself working alongside other volunteers. For many roles, an eye for detail will be needed. Some roles will also require a higher level of physical fitness, as there may be heavy tools to move.
