Within our refurbishment centres we are looking for volunteers to carry out a wide range of roles. Tools are brought to the centre which need to be sorted and checked over. Refurbishment and testing often needs to take place to bring the tools to a condition where they can be included within a tool kit
You will need to be friendly and approachable. You should have commitment to what you are doing with a willingness to work hard whilst taking enjoyment and satisfaction from your volunteering role.
Typical Tasks will include
Welcoming people and taking in donations of tools
Sorting through tools and passing to other sections of the centre for refurbishment
Checking and testing tools donated
Carrying out simple cleaning and refurbishment to bring the tools up to a condition for inclusion in a tool kit. This may include minor repairs, sharpening, replacing parts or restoration
You need to have a friendly personality and be able to work well as part of a team. Some skills in the relevant area are a bonus, but these are not a requirement as training can be provided and there are some roles which do not require any specialist skills. You should be willing to work hard, but also to enjoy yourself working alongside other volunteers. For many roles, an eye for detail will be needed. Some roles will also require a higher level of physical fitness, as there may be heavy tools to move. Some roles may need you to be able to work under pressure from time to time as there may be container shipping deadlines to be met
Further information about this and other roles available can be found at https://twamuk.goassemble.com/opportunities

Mission Statement
We do this because we want to support local people supporting their own communities through sustainable livelihood creating projects. We believe there is dignity through work and the ability to provide for yourself and your family. We believe entire communities can be transformed through training and the provision of tool kits and equipment. As a Christian Charity, we believe that God's heart reaches out to the poor and that He calls us to follow His example. Our motivation is to work with faith and non-faith based organisations to be a refuge for the poor, a safe place to find support, hope and dignity through the provision of tools and equipment
Description
The charitable work of Tools with a Mission is to collect unwanted tools, refurbish them, sort them into trade kits and send them across the world for livelihood creation. We send around 30 containers filled with over 400 tonnes of tools every year. To do this we rely on a national volunteer workforce and welcome people of all ages and abilities and of any faith and no faith
