Farmer Markets want to help! Do you? Volunteer with Peninsula Food Runners on Saturdays at the San Mateo Farmers Market located at the College of San Mateo, the Sunnyvale Farmers Market or Sundays at the Belmont Farmers Market. Peninsula Food Runners volunteers are asked to bring 5-6 smaller empty boxes and at 12:45pm, distribute them to vendors who wish to donate. Beginning at 1:00pm, vendors will give you unsold produce that you will deliver to nonprofits that serve those in need. Please visit www.peninsulafoodrunners.org to sign up and learn more about our nonprofit, started in 2013. You may also email support@peninsulafoodrunners.org for more information. Please sign up at www.peninsulafoodfunners.org Are you looking for a satisfying but flexible volunteer opportunity? Peninsula Food Runners is a volunteer organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and reducing food waste since 2013! We invite you to join us. Peninsula Food Runner volunteers pick up excess food from participating Donors (restaurants, corporate cafeterias, etc.), and then deliver the food directly to our Recipients (shelters, affordable housing for families and the elderly, Boys and Girls Clubs, etc.). We need weekday volunteers to help us deliver food in the Daly City, SSF, Millbrae, Brisbane, Colma, San Bruno and Pacifica area. Surplus food is available, but we have too few drivers on weekdays to transport the food to local non-profits which feed the hungry. Check out the wonderful video about our work! https://www.facebook.com/PeninsulaFoodRunners/videos/5692281200783024 We hit the front page of the Mercury News on Thanksgiving Day! https://wishbook.mercurynews.com/2022-wbpenfood/ Shifts are available mostly during the week and also on weekends and normally take less than 60-90 minutes and can work around your schedule. Come join our team of volunteers! Go to www.peninsulafoodrunners.org and click Sign Up at the top right corner. Be sure to read the food safety guidelines and take the food safety quiz. (Hint: the items in RED will help you answer the quiz!) Contact Hoai-An (pronounced 'Why-Ann) at ht@peninsulafoodrunners.org if you have any questions. Once you sign up, use our ChowMatch.com website and/or phone app to view opportunities, sign up for food runs, notify us of your vacation time, etc. ChowMatch.com login page - https://www.chowmatch.com/login.php Download ChowMatch app (DOWNLOAD LINK ONLY WORKS FROM YOUR PHONE) - https://www.chowmatch.com/features/ - (scroll to bottom of page and click button) We often get last minute requests to rescue food that might go to waste. If you can be available on short notice, please validate your mobile number from the phone app. Together we can feed the hungry!
