The Medical Team Hospice is seeking friendly and compassionate individuals to provide companionship and interaction with our patients. Our volunteers are essential key members of the Hospice team. They share their time, talents, and interests by providing comfort and support to our patients and their families. The Medical Team Hospice provides comprehensive training and orientation to prepare and support you. If you can give at least 5 hours a month, we’d love to hear from you!! The role of a volunteer would be to spend quality time with our patients by engaging in conversation and/or activities with them. A volunteer and patient can do activities together such as: play cards, read books, listen to music, go for walks, paint nails, play board games, arts & crafts, and various other leisure activities. Other available volunteer positions include: - Administrative Volunteer: Assistance in the office (projects, paperwork, etc.) - Event Volunteer: Attend recruiting and holiday events with the Volunteer Coordinator or Community Liaison. Other events may include calling bingo at facilities or assisting with Hospice event planning. *Please Note: All Hospice Volunteers will be required to pass a Background Check and have their fingerprinting completed (We will set up this appointment at no cost to you). A negative 2-step TB test will also be required. *

Our volunteers are indispensable key members of the Hospice care team. They share their time, talents and interests by providing comfort and support to our patients and their families during the critical time. The Medical Team Hospice provides comprehensive training and orientation to support you in the challenges of working with Hospice patients. If you can give 1-3 hours per week, please join out team!!!! The role of a volunteer would be to spend quality time with our patients engaging them in conversation and/or activities. A volunteer and patient may do activities together such as: play cards, read books, watch TV/movies, listen to music, go for walks, shopping, paint nails, beauty care, games, arts/crafts and other numerous leisure activities. Our patients enjoy music therapy, art, and pet therapy if available. Also, there are opportunities to help with the facilities' activities/events. Volunteers do not attend to personal care or medical needs, so no skills in these areas are needed.
