Capital City Hospice volunteers check in with home patients each week to be sure they are 'tucked in' for the weekend. Thursday afternoons find volunteers making these tuck-in calls to patients or caregivers so that any issues are addressed and needs can be met on Friday. You can be part of this team to support and comfort our hospice patients and families! Orientation, background check, TB & drug screening, and fingerprinting required (at Capital City's expense). Who better than a veteran to reminisce and share stories with another veteran? Capital City Hospice is seeking veternas to visit hospice patients who are veterans. Capital City Hospice provides care for patients throughout Central Ohio, many of whom are veterans. Our volunteers provide companionship and support for our patients, and veteran volunteers make a special difference when sharing time with another veteran. Join our team of caring volunteers! Volunteers must attend an orientaton held at our Capital City Hospice office (day or evening sessions available). Consider spending an hour or two with a veteran to share memories and stories. Capital City Hospice seeks volunteers to sit with patients in their last hours. Our Vigil Volunteers provide support for family and caregivers by being present with their loved one at the end of life. Capital City's Continuous Care program, sitting with patients in the final hours, is complemented by the Vigil Volunteers who also comfort the patient by their time at bedside. Time with patients is determined by your schedule. Any time you can share adds to the value of the care given by the hospice team. Capital City Hospice is seeking volunteers to help with supplies for patients--bagging supplies to be taken to patients, inventory, tracking supply orders. Volunteers help our staff save time, stay organized and know that whatever a patient needs is ready to go. Volunteers are scheduled at their convenience to help with supplies (M-F, 8-5). Volunteers must attend an orientation at our Capital City Hospice to learn about hospice, policies, procedures, and documentation. Orientation sessions are held each month, daytime and evening.
