The Food For Kids Backpack Program was implemented through partnerships with Title I elementary schools (defined as schools with a population of greater than 50% of the children receiving free or reduced price federal school meals).

One in six children are at risk of hunger. Weekly, the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank provides nutritious bags of food for over 1,500 children. Volunteers are needed to pack bags of food with kid friendly, yet nutritious food items for the children to take home on the weekends. Packing 100-200 bags of food will be benefical to the foodbank.

This is a great group volunteer project.
