Role:

  • Minecraft Mastermind: Create and deliver thrilling lesson plans where students dive into the world of Minecraft while learning the basics of coding! Help them unlock the secrets of this game and use coding to bring their wildest ideas to life in the Minecraft universe.

  • Code Crafter: Lead interactive sessions where students write code to modify their Minecraft worlds, from building massive structures to creating new in-game mechanics. Show them how to use programming languages like JavaScript/Python to enhance their Minecraft experience.

  • Tech Wizard: Introduce students to the fundamentals of coding and game development, teaching them how to apply logical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity through Minecraft.

  • Creative Builder: Foster a fun and supportive environment where students are encouraged to create their own custom Minecraft mods, design their own in-game adventures, and experiment with their coding projects. It’s their world-they just code it!

  • Game Designer Guide: Help students create their own Minecraft worlds, challenges, and games, all while teaching them the basics of game design and development. Get them ready to show off their skills with a final showcase of their Minecraft creations!

  • Progress Tracker: Monitor and assess student progress, giving them personalized feedback to help improve their coding skills, game development ideas, and overall understanding of the Minecraft platform.

  • Parent Connector: Keep parents or guardians updated on their child's progress and the cool projects they're working on. Share tips for supporting their budding coder at home!

About I’RAISE: I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in the heart of the North Bronx in 2012, began as a mentoring program for at-risk female youth living in New York City Authority Housing. Under the visionary leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization quickly expanded its reach and impact. Shanequa, a Bronx native who overcame poverty and significant life challenges, was inspired to give back to her community, creating a resilient organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and youth.
