The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for overseeing Volunteer activities within the AiRS organization. Duties include recruiting, interviewing and placing Volunteers in various roles and responsibilities based on applicant qualifications and interests, maintaining accurate Volunteer records, and ensuring Volunteers are adequately trained.
The Coordinator will facilitate communication between Volunteers and ARS leadership to achieve organizational goals in a timely and efficient manner, as well as foster a sense of community and engagement for Volunteers and a culture of Volunteerism that will attract future Volunteers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the central point of contact, support, and assistance for all Interns and Volunteers.
- Respond to inquiries from potential volunteers, review volunteer applications, select volunteers, and conduct online volunteer orientation in a timely manner
- Manage Volunteer Match.com account and volunteer opportunities, Explore other opportunities to recruit Volunteers
- Attend regular webinar training to learn more about enhancing the AiRS Volunteer Program
- Create opportunities for Volunteers to collaborate and learn from each other
- Manage volunteer projects, create new projects with the direction of AiRS staff; Assign volunteers for events, as needed
- Maintain Volunteer biographies, quotes, and updated photos for newsletter and social media acknowledgements
- Manage data entry for Volunteer software module
- Coordinate volunteer engagement and connection opportunities through Zoom meetings, acknowledgements for National Volunteer Week; Propose other socials for personal interaction, when possible
- Coordinate with AiRS Staff to provide volunteers as needed for special events
- Keep volunteers apprised of current strategic plan, goals and projects within AiRA
- Communicate regularly with Director of Patient Services to ensure goals and objectives are being met
REQUIRED SKILLS
Interpersonal and organizational skills
· Ability to develop rapport, and work with a diverse group of individuals
· Scheduling, developing meaningful volunteer projects, set expectations, deadline, and follow-up
Communication Skills· Written/verbal, including public speaking and training program development
Leadership and Personnel Management· Commitment to continued training and supervising remote volunteers
· Coaching/Mentoring skills
· Understand the 3 R's of Volunteer Management: Recruit, Reward, Retain
· Passion and positivity

Mission Statement
To be a resource and a support system for the women who have had mastectomies as a result of breast cancer or BRCA+ genetic mutations, educating them on reconstruction options, and ultimately assisting them with the cost of reconstructive surgery
Description
The Foundation works in partnership with physicians in the United States, providing the resources necessary to make this surgery an option for women who would not otherwise have access to breast reconstruction. We partner with health care providers, health care centers and other groups to promote this service.
