Volunteer Opportunity: Graphic Designer , SAF Marketing Committee

Do you have experience in graphic design and a passion for helping dogs, cats, and critters ?

The Seattle Animal Foundation (SAF) is seeking a volunteer (unpaid) Graphic Designer to join our Marketing Committee ! SAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on raising critical funds for the Seattle Animal Shelte r (SAS) and other animal shelte rs throughout our region . We support programs at SAS that the City of Seattle cannot fund on their own.

As a member of the Marketing Committee, the Graphic Designer will create a variety of print and digital materials for SAF . Creative projects include design support for annual fundraising events such as the GiveBIG campaign in May, Furry 5K in June , Furevermore Auction & Gala in October , and year-end appeal in December . This position works closely with the Design Lead.

The ideal candidate has experience in graphic design , including basic branding and advertising principles , and access to their own design software. The Graphic Designer should have the organization and communication skills to work both individually and collaboratively across the cross-functional Marketing Committee and with other SAF committee members.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud software: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator

• Knowledge of template creation using Canva

• Understanding of design basics: layout, typography, color, etc.

• Ability to work within existing style guidelines

• Willingness to learn and share ideas

• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference for Seattle’s shelte r pets

• Experience working or volunteering with an animal -related nonprofit is a plus

Time commitment: 2 to 5 hours per week, on average
