Volunteer Position: International Relations Officer Volunteer
Organization: I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation
Location: Remote (with potential for in-person collaboration, depending on projects)
Commitment: 5-10 hours per week
About I'RAISE:
I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in 2012 in the heart of the North Bronx, began as a mentorship program aimed at at-risk female youth living in New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) facilities. With the visionary leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization expanded its impact, moving from a mentorship focus to addressing the critical need for mental health support for youth in public schools.
Today, I'RAISE is committed to fostering resilience, promoting well-being, and empowering youth through culturally responsive programs and advocacy for equity in mental healthcare. Through its work, I'RAISE is creating lasting social change for vulnerable children and families.
Volunteer Position Overview:
The International Relations Officer Volunteer will play a vital role in expanding I'RAISE’s global partnerships and supporting international initiatives. The volunteer will be responsible for building connections between students in the U.S. and International programs, as well as fostering relationships with global organizations. This position will also focus on raising awareness and support for children and families in crisis regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Development
Explore and establish partnerships with global organizations and networks to expand the reach and impact of I'RAISE.
Sponsorship Initiatives:
Work on sponsorship opportunities to support food programs and other essential needs for vulnerable populations, such as children in Sudan.
Crisis Support
Engage in initiatives to support international communities in crisis
Fundraising Efforts
Assist in raising funds for the children and families in crisis areas, considering both current and future needs of these communities.
Collaborative Projects
Bring together global organizations to share resources and best practices in supporting at-risk youth
Who Can Apply?
We are seeking international volunteers with diverse backgrounds in global relations, humanitarian support, or community development. Applicants should have experience in international projects or organizations and be able to commit to working remotely, adhering to EST or CST time zones.
Qualifications:
Experience or strong interest in international development, humanitarian work, or global relations.
Background or affiliation with organizations like the United Nations (UN) or UNICEF is highly desirable.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Passion for social impact and supporting vulnerable communities.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a global team
