The World Disaster Center (WDC) is seeking a dedicated Pro-Bono Finance Officer to play a crucial role in managing our finances, ensuring compliance, and enabling our global disaster preparedness and response organization to operate efficiently. Your contribution will directly empower communities worldwide by ensuring our financial systems are robust and transparent.

What You'll Be Doing:
1. Budget Management:
- Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets for projects and operations.
- Track expenditures to ensure alignment with budget allocations.
2. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Submit timely donor-specific financial summaries and compliance reports.
3. Grant and Donation Management:
- Track donor contributions, grant cycles, and funding disbursements.
- Ensure compliance with grant agreements and donor conditions.
4. Accounting and Bookkeeping:
- Record transactions accurately in accounting systems.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and manage accounts payable/receivable.
5. Audit Preparation:
- Assist in internal and external audits by maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documents.
6. Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to local tax regulations, donor policies, and financial laws.
Who We’re Looking For:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- A professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CFA) is often preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience (e.g., 3-5 years) in financial management or a similar role.
- Experience working with non-profits, INGOs, or donor-funded projects is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, SAP).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with donor-specific financial reporting (e.g., USAID, UNDP).
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
