Position Title: Volunteer Graphic Designer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, creative volunteer Graphic Designer to join our team. This role will work alongside the Board Member for Marketing and Communications to create visually engaging designs and graphics that align with South Project’s mission. As a volunteer, you will be responsible for developing graphics, visual content, and design assets that will help promote our initiatives, raise awareness, and effectively communicate our mission of empowering young mothers. Your designs will play a key role in supporting our marketing and communication strategies across digital and print platforms.

We’re looking for a passionate, results-driven individual with:

  • Proven experience in graphic design, with a portfolio that demonstrates creativity and design expertise.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of branding and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to create designs that align with the organization's mission and marketing goals.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Board Member and the wider team.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple design projects, balancing both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience working with nonprofits or in a volunteer capacity.
  • A background in marketing, communications, or public relations to support design efforts.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their design requirements.
  • A passion for empowering young mothers and contributing to social change through design.

South Project is a faith-based support organization dedicated to empowering young mothers by providing encouragement, resources, and mentorship in a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment. We strive to help young parents overcome obstacles, focus on their future, and make positive choices. Through our guidance and practical tools, we support teenage mothers in continuing their education or pursuing a trade, enabling them to build sustainable, independent lives for themselves and their children.

Description

South Project is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering young mothers, under 23 years old, by providing mentorship, educational resources, and a supportive community. Our mission is to equip young mothers with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to overcome the challenges of early parenthood and build successful, independent futures for themselves and their children.

We offer personalized mentorship, educational workshops on topics such as parenting, financial literacy, and career development, as well as essential resources to help our participants thrive. Through these programs, we aim to reduce stigma, provide emotional support, and create opportunities for young mothers to succeed in all aspects of their lives.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board members play a critical role in helping us expand our impact, develop sustainable fundraising strategies, and provide strategic guidance to achieve our mission.
