About the Role
As Co-Director of Development, you’ll drive our fundraising and community engagement efforts to support The Halifax Helpers’ mission. You’ll work alongside our team to build relationships, develop funding strategies, and identify opportunities to enhance our impact. This role is ideal for someone passionate about educational access and looking to gain experience in nonprofit development. This role requires a commitment of 1-2 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to grow funding, including identifying potential donors, grants, and community partners.
Donor Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, keeping them informed and engaged with our mission.
Community Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations to create meaningful partnerships that support our programs and outreach goals.
Event Support: Assist in planning and promoting fundraising events, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.
Requirements
Interest in fundraising and community engagement
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Previous experience in development or nonprofits (an asset but not required)
Passion for supporting educational opportunities

The Halifax Helpers is an official chapter of YouthInspirEd Foundation. We provide free online tutoring and language sessions for elementary, junior high school, and high school students as well as their caregivers.
