BUILD is a national education nonprofit that began in the Bay Area in 1999. We partner with schools in under-resourced communities to teach students how to create a business, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and build social capital.

Business Team Coaches (BTCs) support high school student teams as they learn how to BUILD a business and develop their professional network. BTCs can have a strong impact on students, as mutual trust and respect develop over time.

This role takes place at Sequoia High School during the spring semester, running from January to May/June. The commitment is 1-2 times per month during the school day, lasting for 60-90 minutes each session. There is no prior business experience required and we encourage people of all career backgrounds to apply. Those interested can apply here.

All volunteers participate in an orientation in January to go over the role and expectations. The classroom teacher and BUILD program staff also provide BTCs with guidance on working with students during the semester.
