We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Foster Coordinator. This volunteer position plays a crucial role in supporting our foster program coordination efforts, helping connect animals in need with loving homes. As an Assistant, you will work closely with our Foster Coordinator to facilitate the adoption process and ensure a smooth experience for both adopters and animals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in screening foster applications and conducting initial interviews with potential adopters.
- Assist in organizing virtual and in person home visits, meet-and-greet sessions, adoption appointments and follow-ups, ensuring all necessary paperwork and processes are completed.
- Communicate effectively with foster families, providing information about upcoming adoptions, availabilty and needs.
- Work with the director to maintain a list of supplies and inventory
- Update foser records and maintain accurate documentation of activities.
- Collaborate with other team members to promote foster recruitment through online platforms, social media channels and local community events.
- Attend adoption events.
- Utilize shelter software Animals First to review applications, animals and foster portal.
- Communicate with fosters on a weekly basis to ensure all needs are met.
Qualifications:
- Passion for animal welfare and commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Experience with customer service or administrative tasks is preferred but not required.
Time Commitment:
- 3-5 hours per week, with flexibility based on your availability.
- This position is hybrid - remote, we prefer someone who is local to the Trenton, GA or Chattanooga area, but willing to consider strong cadidates from out of state.
