The Prescott National Forest (PNF) is seeking people who have strong communication skills, love working with people who love the outdoors, have terrific customer service skills, and are able to work primarily in an office setting. When applying to these positions please provide at least 3 professional references (e.g., supervisors, coworkers, business contacts, others who know your work ethics and skills). There is no lodging provided for any of these positions.
Three Locations: Volunteer selected for these positions will work primarily at the front desk of one of three offices: 1) Verde Ranger Station in Camp Verde, 2) Bradshaw/Chino Valley Ranger Station in downtown Prescott, or 3) possibly the Forest Supervisor's Office in Chino Valley.
Schedule: Preference is for volunteers who can commit five months or more assisting in the office 1-4 days per week, 4-8 hours per day, schedules are flexible.
Common duties may include the following: Answering phones; providing public information; brochure restocking of reception area; occasional light maintenance of display cabinets, posters, foyer, display kiosk, entryway; data compiling; assisting customer services representatives; organizing supplies; filing; printing/copying; laminating; minor maintenance and troubleshooting with common office equipment; assist in mailroom; and small office projects in support of district programs. Volunteer may have opportunities to assist with special events such as staffing Forest Service information/education table, helping with field logistics, and general support at the assigned administrative office, in the community, and out on National Forest Lands.
