Mission Statement

LEDI's mission is to reduce poverty and improve the lives of Liberians living in extreme poverty. Today, Liberia remains one of the few countries in the world without a single modern public library and technology center. With an illiteracy rate of over 50% (70% among girls) this must change. LEDI flagship project, currently underway, is to construct the first modern public library and technology center in Liberia. With your help, we can achieve this goal! Together WE, you + LEDI, can reduce poverty and change lives in Liberia - one child at a time, one book at a time, one library at a time!

Description

Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) is a US-based, 501 (c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization with an international focus providing life changing literacy, economic development and humanitarian programs and interventions to disadvantaged people in Liberia, West Africa, which is the fourth poorest country in the world. Since 2007, LEDI has provided over 750 educational scholarships and empowered countless individuals and communities through economic development and humanitarian relief.
