LEDI is seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer to assist in researching and writing compelling grant proposals. As a key member of our development team, you will help secure vital funding that enables LEDI to implement and scale its impactful initiatives and programs. This volunteer role requires a strong ability to communicate LEDI’s mission, goals, and the importance of our work in an effective and persuasive way. Responsibilities: Research: Identify and research potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources. Grant Proposals: Write clear, well-researched, and persuasive grant proposals that align with LEDI's mission and programmatic goals. Grant Applications: Manage the full cycle of grant applications, including gathering necessary data, writing proposals, submitting applications, and tracking deadlines. Reporting: Assist in the preparation of progress and final reports for funders, ensuring that all milestones and financial expenditures are clearly communicated. Collaboration: Work closely with LEDI’s program managers and financial team to gather relevant information and data for grant proposals. Required Skills: Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the non-profit sector or international development. Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant grant opportunities. Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to different audiences (foundations, government entities, corporations). Attention to detail, including experience with monitoring grant deadlines, tracking deliverables, and compiling reports. Ability to work independently and manage multiple grant applications simultaneously. Passion for international development, economic growth, and social impact, particularly in Africa. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with global development funding landscapes and/or working with US based and international nonprofit organizations. Knowledge of grant management tools and platforms (e.g., Foundant, Fluxx, or similar). Responsibilities: Content Creation: Develop and produce YouTube videos that highlight LEDI's projects, success stories, and key events. Videos could include interviews, behind-the-scenes looks at our programs, educational content, and other economic development initiatives. Video Editing: Edit video footage to create engaging and high-quality content that resonates with our audience. Promotion: Work with LEDI’s marketing team to cross-promote videos on social media and other platforms to maximize reach. Engagement: Respond to viewer comments and engage with the online community to build relationships and support for LEDI’s work. Required Skills: Proficiency in video production and editing (familiarity with platforms like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc. is a plus). Strong storytelling skills and the ability to communicate LEDI's mission in a compelling way. Knowledge of YouTube's algorithms and strategies for growing a channel. LEDI is need of a videographer who can record at events, create short marketing videos, and/or edit existing raw footage into highlight videos/reels for compelling social media stories on a project-by-project basis. We are seeking both experienced videographers and content editors. Project 1 - Record videos for LEDI October 26, 2024 Gala, including pre-event videography, honoree vignette videos 1 - 3 minutes in length to play at annual fundraiser in October. Videographer will need to meet in person with honorees or receive Pre-recorded videos and film high quality, inspirational video with background music to be played at the awards event. At the Gala volunteer videographers will capture networking, testimonial clips, speakers and attendees postive energy. Project 2 - Create/edit short 2 - 5 minute event highlight videos of events or missions field work. Project 3 - Edit past recorded video content into sizzle reels, short stories, and other social media stories for marketing the organization and our mission.

Responsibilities: Content Creation: Design and create regular posts, stories, and videos for (Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms) that reflect LEDI’s projects and impact. Campaign Management: Plan and execute social media campaigns to engage followers and promote LEDI’s initiatives. Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with LEDI’s branding and messaging guidelines and enhances LEDI’s brand identity. Engagement: Monitor social media channels for comments, questions, and feedback, and respond appropriately to build community engagement. Increase Followers: Increase our audience/ reach and share stories that inspire people to support LEDI's work, including our current flagship project to complete the first modern public library in Liberia. Required Skills: Experience with using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Constant Contact, etc) to promote nonprofit, business, campaigns.
