Are you a graphic designer with a passion for meaningful, impactful work? Join Aunt Mary’s Storybook in designing our new Caregiver Support Newsletter, a bimonthly (every-other-month) publication dedicated to empowering caregivers of children impacted by familial incarceration. Your design skills will help us create a visually engaging, accessible resource that strengthens community and resilience among families navigating the challenges of incarceration.

About Aunt Mary's Storybook: Aunt Mary's Storybook is a compassionate initiative of our broader nonprofit organization, Companions Journeying Together. We connect children with their incarcerated parent or loved one through the joy of reading. We facilitate a loving exchange where incarcerated people select a children's book, record themselves reading it, and then send the book and recording to their child or the child important to them. This simple yet powerful act helps maintain the emotional bond between parent and child during a challenging time of separation. Our goal is to foster resilience, encourage literacy and reading, and support the well-being of families affected by incarceration.

Newsletter Graphic Designer
We’re seeking a volunteer graphic designer to develop a visually appealing newsletter that's both inviting and easy to navigate. As a designer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Creating compelling layouts for our newsletter content that enhance readability and engagement
  • Developing a cohesive design style aligned with Aunt Mary’s Storybook’s mission
  • Using platforms like Mailchimp and Canva to design and format newsletter issues for digital distribution
  • Collaborating with our team to ensure that each issue is accessible and provides meaningful resources to caregivers

Why Volunteer With Us?
As our newsletter designer, you’ll directly contribute to a mission that brings comfort and connection to families affected by incarceration. Your creative skills will make an invaluable difference in delivering crucial support, resources, and community to these families.

How to Get Involved
If you want to use your design skills for a cause that truly matters, we'd love to hear from you! Please reach out today with a brief note about your professional background and any design experience with newsletters or digital content. It would be helpful if you included a link to your portfolio as well.

(Please note that we are only able to recruit prospective volunteers that are located in the United States. In addition, we are unable to assist with obtaining or maintaining a United States visa, including an F-1/OPT visa. Because this opportunity is conducted remotely, we are also unable to offer community service hours verification for court, school, or scholarship purposes.)
