Front D esk volunteers keep operations running smoothly by answering questions about Ronald McDonald House Charities and accepting donations. Front Desk volunteers are essential members of the RMHC-Richmond team and support our mission to keep families close. This role has varied responsibilities and will look different every day.

Location : 2330 Monument Ave, Richmond VA 23220

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet ing and welcom ing families to the House

• Answer ing incoming phone calls

• Accepting and organizing donations and deliveries

• Writing thank you notes

• Check ing families in and out of their rooms

• Interacting with and assisting families on occasion

• Light housekeeping duties

• Other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Sensitivity to families in crisis

• At least 18 years of age

• Volunteers must be fully vaccinated, masks are optional

• Must be able to go up and down stairs and lift 20lbs

• Must complete a background check and training prior to your first shift

• Must be comfortable operating telephone and basic office equipment

• Excellent customer service skills

• Volunteers must be dependable, flexible, friendly, warm, and willing to work independently . Volunteers will be most successful in this role if they can be comfortable during both slow and busy periods.

Scheduling: Weekdays 8-10 am , 10 am -1 2 p m, 12-2pm,

Training and support: Front Desk volunteers will complete an initial onboarding training with the Volunteer Services department and will report to and be supported by house staff, including Guest Services Coordinators, Program Manager, and Director of Operations .
