Hello Community!

We're seeking a dedicated volunteer (U.S. BASED ONLY) to lead user testing for an exciting new edtech software. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in usability testing and contribute to a product that will impact how students and educators learn.

What You'll Do:

  • Recruit user testers: Resource 15-20 college students (ages 17-30) and 5-10 college professors/instructors.
  • Facilitate testing sessions: Conduct 30-45 minute sessions via Zoom or other suitable methods.
  • Analyze and report: Compile a comprehensive usability report with key findings, insights, and recommendations for improvement. This report should specifically highlight:
    • What's working well: Identify the strengths of the design and features that users find intuitive and effective.
    • What's not working: Pinpoint pain points, areas of confusion, and any usability issues encountered by users.
    • Suggestions for improvement: Provide concrete, actionable recommendations based on user feedback to enhance the product's usability and user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our team to define clear testing goals and objectives.
  • Identify and recruit representative user testers.
  • Conduct user testing sessions, observing user interactions and gathering feedback.
  • Analyze testing data to identify usability issues and prioritize them based on severity and impact.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in usability testing and user-centered design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with the Maze user testing platform is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with user research or testing is a plus.

To Apply:

Please submit your resume and LinkedIn profile to bstemvolunteers@gmail.com. We are a small organization and can ONLY respond to applicants who provide the requested information.

This is an unpaid volunteer position, but you'll gain valuable experience in a dynamic edtech environment and contribute to a product with the potential to make a real difference.

Thank you for your interest!
