As a Brand Development Associate, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving the public image of Newington Green Alliance (NGA). Working closely with the team, you will help craft a clear, compelling identity that reflects NGA’s mission and values. Your work will focus on refining and clarifying the elements of the NGA brand, including its logo, design, and tone of voice.
In this role, you will contribute to both the creative and strategic aspects of brand development. This includes improving the visual and written elements of the brand and ensuring they are consistently applied across all areas of the organisation. You will work on design tasks, write or edit content, and help ensure the brand is well understood and implemented by different teams and stakeholders.
This position provides an exciting opportunity for those with an interest in design, writing, and branding to make a meaningful impact by strengthening NGA’s identity and public presence.
The Brand Development Associate is a key member of the Research, Identity, and Outreach (RIO) team at Newington Green Alliance (NGA). The RIO team focuses on three main areas:
Research: Conducting studies to build empathy and understanding across social divides, which informs NGA’s initiatives.
Identity Development: Shaping NGA’s public image by crafting a clear, compelling identity that reflects its mission and values.
Outreach and Behaviour Change: Engaging the community through digital campaigns and events that educate, influence behaviours,and encourage positive social change.
Personal Attributes:
Creative and Design-Oriented - You have a natural sense of design and creativity, with the ability to craft visual and written elements that reflect the NGA brand.
Brand Awareness - You understand the key aspects of branding, including tone of voice and brand personality, and how to ensure these align with the target population, mission, and vision.
Detail-Oriented - You pay close attention to details, ensuring that brand guidelines are consistently followed across all platforms and materials.
Proactive and Collaborative - You’re self-motivated and able to identify branding needs and solutions, while also working closely with the team to ensure cohesive brand messaging.
Skills and Experience:
Brand Development Experience - Some experience in brand development and application is required, with an eagerness to further develop these skills in the role.
Design Skills - Familiarity with design principles and tools, with the ability to contribute to visual branding tasks (e.g., logo refinement, layouts).
Writing Skills - Strong writing ability to craft or edit brand content that reflects the correct tone of voice and personality.
Understanding of Brand Tone of Voice - A solid grasp of how to define and apply a brand tone of voice that matches the target audience and organisational values.
- Technical Skills - Basic proficiency in design tools, content management platforms, and Google Workspace will be helpful for this role.

We are an volunteer led organisation with over 40 volunteers and a wide range of projects geared toward building connection and relationship across all the many differences in the Newington Green area of London.
