ORGANIZATION: MOTHERS AND AUTISM MEETUP INC

Role Summary:

As a Volunteer Social Media Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital presence and community engagement across various social media platforms. Specifically: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram. Your creativity, strategic thinking, and passion for storytelling will help amplify our mission, engage our audience, and drive awareness to the autism community. You will collaborate with a team of dedicated volunteers to create compelling content that resonates with our audience and reflects our core values of caring, trustworthiness, innovation, and fairness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation and Management: Develop and manage a content calendar that aligns with our project milestones, promotional campaigns, and community events. Create engaging, informative, and visually appealing content tailored to each social media platform.
  • Audience Engagement: Actively engage with our community on social media by responding to comments, messages, and engaging in conversations that foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and report on the performance of social media campaigns and organic content. Use insights to inform future content strategies and increase engagement and reach.
  • Brand Advocacy: Represent and advocate for the MAAM mission in all social media activities. Ensure all content is consistent with our brand voice, mission, and values.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand, nonprofit, or similar organization.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, analytics tools, and content marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and creating engaging content.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, volunteer-driven environment.
  • Passion for Believe in Me's mission and a commitment to empowering marginalized communities.
  • Creative, innovative thinker willing to contribute ideas and take initiative on new projects.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) is a plus.

Mission Statement

Dedicated to helping mothers with school-age children on the autism spectrum. We equip them with educational, financial, and community resources. We provide children with opportunities to break social barriers through community events. This will help mothers to advocate effectively, while teaching our children about peer awareness and acceptance.

Description

Founded in 2023, Mothers And Autism Meetup has been committed to supporting families with children who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Initially established to create a supportive and safe environment for caregivers to share their experience, we have grown to address the diverse needs of target population. MAAM envisioned a supportive environment where focus on educational, and today, that vision continues to guide our work. Stress to Strength- Autism Parenting and Self-Care: Aimed at strength the support of caregiver, this transformative program provides strategies to effective in-home therapy, effective communication, behavioral challenges, understanding IEP's, building a self-care awareness. We have positively impacted 20 families through our programs and services. Through our Colorful Connection Autism Fest were able to connect 98 individuals with resources, while providing a day of fun and celebration. Our goal is to expand our targeted population in the tri-city area of Richmond, create more sensory-friendly activities for the children, as well as building a supportive team that can help support families in different capacity.
