Job Description: Digital Engagement and Content Creator
Location: Milford, Delaware (Remote/Hybrid options available)
Position Type: Volunteer/Part-Time
Position Summary:
The Digital Engagement and Content Creator for Milford Advocacy for the Homeless will be responsible for managing the organization’s online presence and creating compelling content to raise awareness of its mission, programs, and events. This role focuses on enhancing community engagement across social media platforms, promoting the organization’s brand, and driving support for various initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, digital marketing, and community advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
Manage Milford Advocacy’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), ensuring regular, meaningful engagement with the community. Create, schedule, and publish posts that highlight the organization’s events, volunteer opportunities, and success stories.Content Creation:
Develop and produce high-quality, visually appealing content for social media, the website, newsletters, and blog posts. Content will include images, graphics, videos, and written content that align with Milford Advocacy’s mission and voice.Community Engagement:
Foster active engagement with followers by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner. Create and manage online conversations to build stronger relationships with supporters, volunteers, and donors.Campaign Management:
Assist in the planning and execution of digital campaigns to promote specific programs, such as Code Purple shelters, food recovery efforts like Bounty to Blessings, the Laundry of Love program, and other key initiatives. Track engagement and performance of these campaigns to adjust strategies as needed.Storytelling and Volunteer Spotlights:
Feature stories of volunteers, participants, and success stories from Milford Advocacy’s various programs, such as the Welcome Home Program and seasonal events. Produce regular "Volunteer Spotlights" and team member features to inspire others to get involved.Website Updates and Blog Writing:
Collaborate with the web team to ensure the website is regularly updated with fresh content, program news, and upcoming events. Write blog articles to spotlight different aspects of Milford Advocacy’s work, including community impact stories and program updates.Branding and Design:
Work with the marketing team to ensure all digital content is on-brand, maintaining consistency in voice, tone, and visual identity across all platforms. Create branded materials like flyers, infographics, and videos to support program outreach and fundraising.Analytics and Reporting:
Track and report on the performance of digital content and campaigns. Use analytics tools to measure social media engagement, website traffic, and email marketing effectiveness, providing insights for improvement.
Qualifications:
Experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing.
Strong storytelling, writing, and communication skills.
Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) and social media scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite).
Basic video editing and photography skills are a plus.
Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting.
Passion for advocacy, community support, and helping vulnerable populations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Milford Advocacy team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with nonprofits or community-focused organizations.
Understanding of SEO principles and digital advertising strategies.
Familiarity with managing and growing an organization’s online presence.
Commitment:
This is a part-time or volunteer position, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work. Time commitment is estimated at 5-10 hours per week, depending on upcoming campaigns or events.

Description
MAH is a grassroots, 501c3 non-profit public organization. We were founded out of community desire to provide and advocacy group that would gather community resources into one place ,so that it would be easy for anyone who is displaced or simply has housing or food insecurity. We were incorporated in January 2021 through the request of the community. We continue to bring together resources to help those in need and walk beside them as support and shepherd as they move from insecurity to security.
