Are you passionate about affordable housing and ready to make a meaningful impact in your community? Pickens County Habitat for Humanity (PCHFH) is seeking dedicated and experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds to join our Board of Directors. Help guide our organization as we continue building homes, communities, and hope.

Board Responsibilities: As a member of our Board of Directors, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise and leadership to shape the strategic direction of PCHFH. You’ll work alongside a dynamic group of leaders to ensure we fulfill our mission, provide financial and operational oversight, and secure the resources needed for sustainable growth. Ideal candidates bring experience in areas such as accounting, finance, real estate, law, community development, fundraising, or family-centered case management. Your voice will help us strengthen our programs, safeguard our assets, maintain legal and ethical integrity, and enhance our standing in the community. This role offers you the chance to make a real difference while sharpening your leadership skills and expanding your professional network.

Individual Board Member Responsibilities

To be an engaged board member, we ask that you:

  • Contribute at least $200 annually to PCHFH.
  • Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in monthly board meetings (3 hours/month).
  • Actively participate in or chair one of our committees (5 hours/month).
  • Participate in community outreach on behalf of PCHFH or champion necessary tasks (5 hours/month).
  • Consistently advocate for PCHFH and its mission.

Anticipated total time commitment: 10-15 hours per month. Many board members contribute additional time throughout the year to ensure the success of our board and affiliate. Accountability is key, and board members are expected to uphold these commitments to maintain an effective board.

Vital Committees Awaiting Your Passion:

Communications and Development Committee: Help us tell the story of transformation and community through various media channels. Engage and grow our network of supporters to secure the resources needed for our mission’s success.

Homeowner Selection and Support Committee: Assist partner families on their journey to homeownership by providing education, mentorship, and ongoing support, ensuring a smooth transition to homeownership.

Finance Committee: Ensure our financial health by overseeing budgeting, planning, and resource allocation. Your expertise will help us maximize every dollar for the benefit of our community.

(Note: The Construction and Safety Committee is currently full.)
