Red Cross Volunteers are needed at the new Beaverton Blood Donation Center set to open early December 2024 at Murray Schools Town Center!
Become a Blood Donor Ambassador volunteer and provide a friendly face as you welcome blood donors, check them into their appointments, and support them through the recovery process at the refreshments table.
Are you a friendly, well-organized and enthusiastic person who can represent the Red Cross to our blood donors?
Blood Donor Ambassadors ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. During a blood drive, whether you’re greeting donors, checking them in to their appointment, answering questions, or thanking them for their donation, your courtesy and professionalism will create a favorable impression that encourages ongoing donor support!
You’ll need to meet these important qualifications:
- Manage the reception process by ensuring each donor is warmly greeted and assisted with initial intake according to the appointment priority system
- May manage the hospitality experience by offering refreshments to donors, thanking them for their contribution, and alerting staff immediately if a donor shows signs of feeling unwell
- Communicate in a professional manner with diverse populations
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and comfort working with people
- Ability to follow safety protocols and directions consistently and thoroughly
Available shifts starting early December 2024:
- Tuesday: 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00PM- 7:00 PM
- Wednesday: 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00PM- 7:00 PM
- Thursday: 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM, 1:00PM- 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM- 11:00 AM, 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM
The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation’s blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage visitors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need.
