We are seeking a skilled and motivated WordPress Website Administrator to join our team on a volunteer basis. As the Website Administrator, you will play a vital role in maintaining, updating, and optimizing our WordPress website to effectively support our mission. You will ensure the site’s performance, security, and content delivery align with our organizational goals to engage donors, volunteers, and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

* Website Maintenance & Updates: Regularly update WordPress core, themes, and plugins to ensure the site is running smoothly, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

* Content Management: Manage and update site content, including text, images, and multimedia, to ensure timely and accurate information is displayed.

* Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve website loading speeds and performance through caching, image optimization, and plugin management.

* SEO & Analytics: Implement best practices for search engine optimization (SEO) to enhance site visibility and analyze website traffic and user behavior to inform improvements.

* Security Management: Ensure the security of the website by implementing and maintaining security plugins, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and ensuring regular site backups.

* User Experience (UX) Enhancements: Evaluate and improve site navigation, user interface, and overall user experience to provide an engaging and accessible site for visitors.

* Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the communications team to align content and website features with our brand messaging, campaigns, and organizational objectives.

* Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve any website issues, including server errors, plugin conflicts, or other technical challenges that may impact functionality.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience with WordPress administration, including updating themes, plugins, and performing core updates.

* Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP for basic site customization and troubleshooting.

* Understanding of SEO principles and experience using analytics tools like Google Analytics.

A community of military veterans combating the world water crisis

Veterans Without Orders is an veteran-led, non-profit, clean water organization that assists populations without clean water and other essential services. Our goal is to continue serving humanity by utilizing skills obtained while in uniform to conduct sustainable humanitarian projects worldwide.

Many founding members of VWO served within the Civil Affairs Corps and developed broad expertise in assessing needs, developing solutions, and working with local partners to implement those solutions. Our model is based in-part on the U.S. Army Civil Affairs Team concept, which specializes in identifying critical requirements needed by local citizens in combat or crisis situations.
