Blackrock Ranger District: Winter Season Front Desk Volunteer

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

We are looking an enthusiastic volunteer to help operate the front desk at the Bridger-Teton National Forest Jackson Ranger Station. The Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) is part of the largest intact ecosystem in the lower 48 states. 3.48 million acres stretch from the southern border of Yellowstone National Park, covering the entire eastern flank of Grand Teton National Park, wrapping around Jackson Hole valley, to southwest-central Wyoming. The Bridger-Teton is characterized by high elevation coniferous forests, sage/grass steppes, mountain ranges and deep valleys, large expanses of wild lands and three wilderness areas, abundant wildlife, and internationally recognized scenic and natural features.

In helping with the Forest Service's front desk, daily tasks include speaking with the public, selling America the Beautiful and park passes, answering phones, responding to radio calls, and other clerical tasks that might arise. The volunteer must be a quick learner, have good people skills, be patient, and be able to communicate clearly to the public when working as the Customer Service Representative.

The available housing for this position is a shared Forest Service home, meaning you would have your own room and a shared kitchen, living area, and bathroom with one other roommate. We will need a volunteer from December-May, 4 days a week.
