Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance

Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance (TCMBB) is an exciting exercise class offered through RSVP, the same volunteer program that oversees the popular Bone Builders classes. The eight forms used in TCMBB are scientifically proven to improve balance and strength, making it a wonderful way to stay active and healthy.

We are looking for volunteers interested in becoming instructors for these classes. No prior experience with Tai Chi is necessary, though it can be helpful. Training includes visiting one of our classes (in Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, or online), completing 15 hours of training with our master trainers, and practicing the forms before certification. The training is free, but we ask for a commitment to teach at least two 12-week sessions of the free class once certified.

Instructors must be 55 or older to qualify for the RSVP program.

As a Volunteer Instructor, you will lead twice-weekly 90-minute classes over a 12-week period. You will co-teach with a partner, allowing for flexibility for vacation and personal days. Class sizes are small, and participants are typically seniors.

This program not only focuses on physical health but also encourages building friendships and connections with others in the class.
