Veterans Recognition Team - Loudoun/Western Fairfax
Joining the Capital Caring Health volunteer team will bring you in contact with other amazing volunteers. You will be joining team which will support you and appreciate your work.
Who you are :
· Interested in recognizing veterans in your community.
· A compassionate, caring individual.
· Skilled at listening and putting others at ease.
What you will do :
· Participate in military recognition ceremonies.
· Companionship visits to veterans in their home or assisted living facility.
· Other opportunities to volunteer if you are interested doing additional work outside of the Veterans Recognition Team to including companionship visits, caregiver respite, sewing and knitting, administrative/front desk receptionist, flower teams, Vigil, and more.
All Volunteers will need to be:
· Be at least 18 years old
· Covid vaccinated (initial two vaccines)
· Annual Flu vaccination or complete an exemption form.Will need to wear a mask if not vaccinated.
· Current driver’s license and proof of car insurance
· Not have had a significant death in their life in the past year
· Be able to volunteer 6 or more hours per month for 1 year or more
· Provide two (2) references that we may contact
· Complete a criminal background check (cost covered by CCH)
· Test negative for TB (cost covered by CCH)
· Complete online training courses prior to volunteering
· Complete a two hour Zoom new volunteer orientation

Description
Capital Caring Health provides hospice, palliative and advanced illness care of the highest quality to patients of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay. We serve pediatrics to geriatrics. We have two in patient centers and serve most patients in the comfort of their home. Volunteers are key to the service we provide. We train our volunteers and support them along the way. They are part of our team.
