Hospice Volunteer - Aldie, VA Joining the Capital Caring Health volunteer team will bring you in contact with other amazing volunteers. You will be joining team which will support you and appreciate your work. Who you are : · Interested in front desk reception, companionship, music therapy, and/or patient care volunteer work at our state of the art Hospice House in Aldie, VA. · A compassionate, caring individual. · Able to work with patients of all ages and their families. · Skilled at listening and putting others at ease. · Strong attention to detail What you will do : Various types of opportunities depending on your interest. We have weekday or weekend hours available. We will work with your schedule. Opportunities include: · Reception Desk - Greet visitors and help sign them in at the reception desk, accept packages, etc. · Personal care - Under the direction and guidance of clinical staff assist with limited patient care, stock supplies, make beds, set up rooms, etc. · Companionship visits - visit with patients and families, provide emotional support, read books or magazines or play recorded music for the patients. · Music Therapy - play the lobby piano, sing or play an instrument for the patients in their rooms. · Other opportunities to volunteer if you are interested doing additional work outside of the Adler Hospice House to including companionship visits in the community, caregiver respite, sewing and knitting, administrative, military recognition ceremonies, flower team, Vigil, and more. Hospice Volunteer - Loudoun/Western Fairfax Joining the Capital Caring Health volunteer team will bring you in contact with other amazing volunteers. You will be joining team which will support you and appreciate your work. Who you are : · Able to work with patients of all ages and their families. · Skilled at listening and putting others at ease. · Strong attention to detail What you will do : · Companionship or caregiver respite visits to patient’s homes or assisted living facilities in Loudoun county and Western Fairfax. · Visit with patients and their families. · Provide emotional support. · Other opportunities to volunteer if you are interested doing additional work outside of the companionship visits in the community we have sewing and knitting, administrative, military recognition ceremonies, flower team, Vigil, and more. All Volunteers will need to be: · Be at least 18 years old · Covid vaccinated (initial two vaccines) · Annual Flu vaccination or complete an exemption form.Will need to wear a mask if not vaccinated. · Current driver’s license and proof of car insurance · Not have had a significant death in their life in the past year · Be able to volunteer 6 or more hours per month for 1 year or more · Provide two (2) references that we may contact · Complete a criminal background check (cost covered by CCH) · Test negative for TB (cost covered by CCH) · Complete online training courses prior to volunteering · Complete a two hour Zoom new volunteer orientation Mission Statement : Provide Patients and Their Families with Advanced Illness Care of the Highest Quality If you are interested in volunteering with Capital Caring Health , we welcome you!

Flower Team Volunteer - Loudoun/Western Fairfax Joining the Capital Caring Health volunteer team will bring you in contact with other amazing volunteers. You will be joining team which will support you and appreciate your work. Who you are : · Enjoys flowers and creating floral arrangements · A compassionate, caring individual · Skilled at listening and putting others at ease · Dependable with transportation for deliveries What you will do : · Pick up flowers from a grocery store in Reston on Tuesday mornings (once or twice per month). · Create floral arrangements. · Deliver floral arrangements to patients in their homes or Assisted Living Facilities in your designated region. · Other opportunities to volunteer if you are interested doing additional work outside of the Flower Team to including companionship visits, caregiver respite, sewing and knitting, administrative/front desk receptionist, military recognition ceremonies, Vigil, and more. Veterans Recognition Team - Loudoun/Western Fairfax Joining the Capital Caring Health volunteer team will bring you in contact with other amazing volunteers. You will be joining team which will support you and appreciate your work. Who you are : · Interested in recognizing veterans in your community. · A compassionate, caring individual. · Skilled at listening and putting others at ease. What you will do : · Participate in military recognition ceremonies. · Companionship visits to veterans in their home or assisted living facility. · Other opportunities to volunteer if you are interested doing additional work outside of the Veterans Recognition Team to including companionship visits, caregiver respite, sewing and knitting, administrative/front desk receptionist, flower teams, Vigil, and more.
