Flower Team Volunteer - Loudoun/Western Fairfax

Joining the Capital Caring Health volunteer team will bring you in contact with other amazing volunteers. You will be joining team which will support you and appreciate your work.

Who you are :

· Enjoys flowers and creating floral arrangements

· A compassionate, caring individual

· Skilled at listening and putting others at ease

· Dependable with transportation for deliveries

What you will do :

· Pick up flowers from a grocery store in Reston on Tuesday mornings (once or twice per month).

· Create floral arrangements.

· Deliver floral arrangements to patients in their homes or Assisted Living Facilities in your designated region.

· Other opportunities to volunteer if you are interested doing additional work outside of the Flower Team to including companionship visits, caregiver respite, sewing and knitting, administrative/front desk receptionist, military recognition ceremonies, Vigil, and more.

All Volunteers will need to be:

· Be at least 18 years old

· Covid vaccinated (initial two vaccines)

· Annual Flu vaccination or complete an exemption form.Will need to wear a mask if not vaccinated.

· Current driver’s license and proof of car insurance

· Not have had a significant death in their life in the past year

· Be able to volunteer 6 or more hours per month or 1 year or more

· Provide two (2) references that we may contact

· Complete a criminal background check (cost covered by CCH)

· Test negative for TB (cost covered by CCH)

· Complete online training courses prior to volunteering

· Complete a two hour Zoom new volunteer orientation
