We are looking for new volunteers to use their interviewing and recording/editing skills to record our hospice patients share their life story. Our hope is to allow the patient to leave behind a story, message or anything else they choose for their families to treasure. In addition, video recordings can be used to record family members and loved ones of the patient. This can very helpful, especially if the patient is unable to communicate or share stories. For example, if a patient is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s and is unable to communicate verbally, family and friends can be recorded sharing special stories and memories of that person. You will be recording and editing and putting this on a DVD or uploading to Youtube and encrypting the video. Imagine the thrill of a family member being able to hear grandparent’s story in their own words after they have passed away! Please email the information below. Require videorecorder, microphone and editing software. Do you have access to these items? Must be able to interview and video record patient and family members. Are you interested? Do you have related experience? What a part of the city are you available to volunteer in? Are you willing to take a background check, drug and Tuberculosis test? Please respond to this opportunity if interested.
