What You’ll Be Doing: Your team will assist with preparing and serving meals to individuals experiencing homelessness or facing food insecurity. Volunteers will also help with meal distribution, clean-up, and providing a welcoming environment to our clients.
Attire Requirements:
- Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or open-toe footwear).
- Please wear modest, casual clothing (jeans, t-shirts, or company-branded gear is great).
- For safety, long hair must be tied back, and no loose jewelry should be worn.
Group Size: We can accommodate groups of 5 volunteers at a time. If you have a larger team, let us know at the contact information below, and we can arrange multiple shifts or recommend other sites!
Scheduling Availability: We offer flexible scheduling to fit your group’s needs. Meal service shifts are typically available on weekdays:
Lunch shifts: 11:30 AM-1:30 PM
Dinner shifts: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Please reach out in advance to secure your preferred time slot. If your group has specific scheduling needs, we’re happy to discuss alternatives to accommodate your availability.

Volunteers of America, Utah is a human services 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with more than 300 paid staff who serve more than 8,000 people across the state each year through programs addressing homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, and domestic violence. Thousands of volunteers and partners join with us to accomplish our mission to reach and uplift those in greatest need.
