About Us:
Book Bytes is a philanthropic initiative focused on promoting literacy and providing educational resources to children in need. We are currently seeking an experienced Attorney specializing in South African nonprofit law to provide legal guidance and ensure our compliance with relevant legal frameworks.

Role Overview:
As a volunteer attorney for Book Bytes, you will offer legal advice and support to ensure the organization remains compliant with South African nonprofit laws and regulations. This role is crucial to our foundation's legal standing and ability to fulfill our mission effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel on nonprofit registration, governance, and compliance with South African law.
• Assist with drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit tax laws and regulations.
• Advise on intellectual property, trademark issues, and protection of the organization’s legal rights.
• Offer guidance on any legal challenges the organization may face.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Attorney with a specialization in South African nonprofit law.
• Familiarity with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) processes.
• Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
• Strong knowledge of tax exemption laws for South African nonprofits.
• Ability to commit time on a volunteer basis.
