I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation is a heartfelt haven founded in 2012 by the visionary Chief Executive Officer, Shanequa Moore. As a beacon of hope and resilience, we stand tall as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, proudly led by individuals from BIPOC and women communities. Since our inception, we have woven a tapestry of support, dedication, and transformation that defines who we are.

Role:

  • Language Adventure Guides: Create and deliver fun, interactive lesson plans that help students master English, from vocabulary and grammar to pronunciation and conversation skills. Turn every class into a language discovery journey!

  • Interactive Learning: Lead dynamic sessions that blend role-playing, lively group discussions, and multimedia resources. Make learning English exciting and engaging with a variety of teaching methods.

  • Real-Life Language Skills: Teach practical English skills for everyday situations, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Help students build the confidence to use English in real-life scenarios.

  • Supportive Environment: Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere where students feel comfortable practicing their English skills and participating in language activities. Celebrate every little victory!

  • Progress Partners: Keep an eye on student progress and provide helpful feedback to boost their language skills and confidence. Guide them in setting and reaching personal language learning goals.

  • Parent Connect: Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child’s progress, class activities, and tips for supporting language development at home. Build a bridge between classroom and home learning.

  • Team Collaboration: Work with other teachers and staff to weave ESL instruction into broader educational experiences, supporting students' overall academic growth.

  • Organized Classroom: Keep accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and assessments, ensuring a smooth and organized learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Language Enthusiast: Experience in teaching English as a second language with a solid grasp of language acquisition principles and strategies. Your expertise will light the way for students' English journey!

  • Certifications: TESOL, TEFL, or related certifications are preferred. Your qualifications will bring added depth to your teaching.

About I’RAISE: I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in the heart of the North Bronx in 2012, began as a mentoring program for at-risk female youth living in New York City Authority Housing. Under the visionary leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization quickly expanded its reach and impact. Shanequa, a Bronx native who overcame poverty and significant life challenges, was inspired to give back to her community, creating a resilient organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and youth.
