About IRAISE
I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation is a heartfelt haven founded in 2012 by the visionary Chief Executive Officer, Shanequa Moore. As a beacon of hope and resilience, we stand tall as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, proudly led by individuals from BIPOC and women communities. Role:
Glamorous Lessons: Design and deliver fun, hands-on lesson plans that introduce students to the fabulous world of cosmetology! Cover everything from hair cutting and styling to coloring, skincare, and nail care with flair and excitement.
Salon Sessions: Lead lively and interactive sessions where students get to use professional tools and products in a simulated salon environment. Turn every class into a mini-spa day!
Safety and Style: Teach students the essentials of salon safety, sanitation, and client care. Ensure they master industry standards while having a blast experimenting with their new skills.
Creative Environment: Create a positive and inclusive space where students feel free to unleash their creativity. Encourage them to try out different styles and techniques in a supportive atmosphere.
Showcase Skills: Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them refine their technical skills and creativity. Guide them in building a stunning portfolio of their hair, makeup, and nail designs, leading up to a fabulous final showcase or presentation.
Stay Connected: Keep parents or guardians in the loop with regular updates about student progress, class activities, and any necessary materials or products.
Collaborative Glam: Work with other teachers and staff to integrate cosmetology projects into broader educational experiences, adding a touch of beauty to their learning journey.
Organizational Chic: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and assessments, ensuring everything runs smoothly in your glamorous classroom.
Qualifications:
Cosmetology Experience: Hands-on experience in hair, makeup, and nail care with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of skills. Show off your beauty expertise!
Certifications: Certification or coursework in cosmetology, esthetics, or a related field is preferred. Your credentials make you a beauty pro!
Kid-Friendly: Experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus, bringing an extra sparkle to the classroom.
Teaching Passion: A love for teaching and inspiring students to explore and develop their cosmetology skills, helping them discover their inner beauty artists.
Creative Flair: Ability to design engaging and educational hands-on activities that make learning cosmetology exciting and enjoyable.
Supportive Mentor: Patience and empathy to create a nurturing and encouraging environment where students feel empowered to experiment and grow.

About I’RAISE: I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in the heart of the North Bronx in 2012, began as a mentoring program for at-risk female youth living in New York City Authority Housing. Under the visionary leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization quickly expanded its reach and impact. Shanequa, a Bronx native who overcame poverty and significant life challenges, was inspired to give back to her community, creating a resilient organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and youth.
