Embrace Abilities is looking for a creative volunteer to help us design engaging literature and banners that explain who we are and what we do. We frequently participate in community events and vendor booths, and we need materials that represent our mission and appeal to families. With a large festival on November 2-3-expected to draw more than 150,000 attendees-this is an exciting opportunity to make a big impact by designing materials that showcase our joyful, inclusive brand to a wide audience.

Who We Are: Embrace Abilities is a nonprofit organization that supports neurodiverse and special needs children and teens on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We provide free, inclusive events where children can build friendships and social skills, while parents and caregivers connect and find resources. Our mission is to ensure every child feels seen, valued, and celebrated through sensory-friendly, enriching activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design literature (brochures, flyers) that clearly explains our mission, programs, and events, ensuring materials are family-friendly and on-brand.
  • Create vibrant, eye-catching banners for our vendor booths at large community events, including the upcoming festival with 150,000+ attendees.
  • Collaborate with our team to incorporate feedback and finalize the designs.
  • Use bright, colorful elements that reflect the joyful, kid-friendly spirit of Embrace Abilities.

Key Programs and Events:

  • Bi-Monthly Meetups: Indoor and outdoor events to help children build social skills in fun, structured environments.
  • Birthday Buddies Program: Monthly celebrations for children’s birthdays during our meetups.
  • Coffee with Caregivers: Quarterly events offering parents and caregivers time to relax, connect, and learn from experts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in graphic design and creating marketing materials.
  • Familiarity with branding for nonprofits or family-focused organizations.
  • Ability to create bright, colorful, and cheerful designs that align with our mission.
  • Strong attention to detail and an understanding of how to effectively communicate a nonprofit's message.

Why Volunteer? Your creative talents will help us spread awareness of our mission and engage more families across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. By designing literature and banners that represent Embrace Abilities, you’ll play a key role in helping us grow and reach more neurodiverse children and families. Plus, your work will be showcased at a festival with over 150,000 attendees!
