The Donor Management and Relations Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing and nurturing relationships with donors and stakeholders to support the mission and objectives of The Medica Zone. This position encompasses a blend of managerial, strategic, and operational responsibilities, requiring strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a passion for donor engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Mentorship
- Supervise and mentor donor management interns, providing guidance and support in their tasks and professional development.
- Assign weekly tasks using Asana, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
- Conduct monthly evaluation reports for interns, offering feedback for improvement.
2. Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, ensuring effective communication and stewardship.
- Manage a comprehensive donor database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of donor records.
- Coordinate donor recognition activities, such as thank-you letters, press releases, and donor events.
3. Fundraising Strategy:
- Research prospective donors and develop effective fundraising strategies, including partnerships and grant opportunities.
- Prepare reports and presentations on donor engagement and fundraising progress for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with marketing, content creation, and outreach departments to align fundraising efforts and donor strategies.
4. Representation and Meetings:
- Represent the organization at virtual donor management events, conferences, and meetings.
- Attend regular meetings with the Executive Director and participate in bi-monthly Board of Directors meetings.
5. Board Responsibilities:
- Review and abide by all program and logistical procedures as part of the Board of Directors.
- Contribute to decision-making and problem-solving during board meetings, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Act as a spokesperson for the organization, interpreting its work and values to the community
6. Compliance and Confidentiality:
- Adhere to all organizational rules, regulations, policies, and practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, including donor data and organizational procedures.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in donor management and fundraising.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation in donor engagement strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Finance, Accounting, Public Relations, etc)
- Commit a minimum of at least 5 hours a week
- Knowlegde of nonprofit work and donor systems
- Great communication skills
