ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) team. This is a 100% remote (volunteer-from-home opportunity). The DEI Engagement team is seeking a qualified and creative individual to assist with the graphic design and layout of key information and data, with a primary focus on PowerPoint presentations. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone skilled in translating complex data and updates into visually appealing and easily digestible formats. The volunteer will play a critical role in ensuring our presentations effectively communicate key insights, updates, and metrics in an engaging and professional manner.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and Layout: Create visually engaging PowerPoint presentations by designing clean and professional layouts for information and data.
  • Data Visualization: Translate complex data sets into easy-to-understand charts, graphs, and infographics, ensuring clarity and aesthetic appeal
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs align with organizational branding guidelines, maintaining consistency in color schemes, fonts, and overall style.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the team to understand content needs and provide creative input on the best way to visually represent updates, metrics, and reports.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Use innovative design solutions to present data and information in a manner that is both informative and visually compelling.
  • Revisions and Feedback: If needed, incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine and improve designs as needed.

    • Graphic Design Skills: Proven experience in graphic design, with a portfolio of work demonstrating creativity and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in PowerPoint: Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, including creating custom templates, integrating multimedia elements, and utilizing advanced design features.
    • Data Visualization: Strong skills in translating complex data into visually appealing charts, graphs, and infographics.
    • Knowledge of Design Tools: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools is a plus.
    • Branding Awareness: Ability to adhere to brand guidelines while offering creative input for enhancing visual communication.
    • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to understand design needs and receive constructive feedback.
    • Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail, ensuring that all work is accurate and polished.
    • Creative Problem-Solver: Ability to think creatively to solve design challenges and present data in innovative ways.
    • Experience with Layout Design: Prior experience in layout design for presentations, reports, or other similar formats.
