ORGANIZATION: MOTHERS AND AUTISM MEETUP INC

Overview:

The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various events and activities to support the organization's mission and fundraising efforts. This individual will be a detail oriented, self-directed professional, committed to playing a key role in the creation and planning of purposeful events according to the organization's needs and vision. They work closely with internal teams, volunteers to ensure successful events.

Responsibilities

-Planning and coordinating events that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Recruiting and coordinating volunteers to assist with event setup, registration, and other tasks.
-Collaborating with sponsors and vendors to secure donations and in-kind support for events.
-Working with the marketing team to creating and distributing event marketing materials, such as invitations, social media posts, and press releases.
-Overseeing event logistics, such as registration, check-in, audiovisual equipment, and catering.
-Managing event day operations, troubleshooting any issues that may arise, and ensuring a positive experience for attendees.
-Tracking and evaluating event outcomes, including attendance, fundraising results, and participant feedback.
-Maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners to cultivate ongoing support for the organization.

-Attend bi-weekly team meetings

Qualifications:

Experience in event planning and coordination

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, vendors, and staff members

Dedicated to helping mothers with school-age children on the autism spectrum. We equip them with educational, financial, and community resources. We provide children with opportunities to break social barriers through community events. This will help mothers to advocate effectively, while teaching our children about peer awareness and acceptance.

Description

Founded in 2023, Mothers And Autism Meetup has been committed to supporting families with children who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Initially established to create a supportive and safe environment for caregivers to share their experience, we have grown to address the diverse needs of target population. MAAM envisioned a supportive environment where focus on educational, and today, that vision continues to guide our work. Stress to Strength- Autism Parenting and Self-Care: Aimed at strength the support of caregiver, this transformative program provides strategies to effective in-home therapy, effective communication, behavioral challenges, understanding IEP's, building a self-care awareness. We have positively impacted 20 families through our programs and services. Through our Colorful Connection Autism Fest were able to connect 98 individuals with resources, while providing a day of fun and celebration. Our goal is to expand our targeted population in the tri-city area of Richmond, create more sensory-friendly activities for the children, as well as building a supportive team that can help support families in different capacity.
