Embrace Abilities, a first-year nonprofit organization, is seeking a knowledgeable volunteer to help ensure that our accounting and financial processes are set up correctly. As we navigate our early stages, we want to make sure we’re handling everything from expenses to donations accurately and in compliance with nonprofit regulations. If you have experience in nonprofit accounting, your guidance will be invaluable to us.

Who We Are: Embrace Abilities is a nonprofit that supports neurodiverse and special needs children and families on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We provide free, inclusive events that build community and offer support to families in need. As a young organization, it’s critical that we establish sound financial practices to ensure our sustainability and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Review our current financial setup, including QuickBooks entries and processes.
• Ensure we are compliant with nonprofit accounting standards and IRS regulations.
• Provide guidance on proper tracking of donations, grants, and expenses.
• Help develop financial reporting systems to maintain transparency with our stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Experience with nonprofit accounting and financial management.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks
• Knowledge of IRS compliance and nonprofit tax requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to explain financial concepts clearly.
